We're from Eugene, Oregon, U.S.A. We’ve had a long-term Contracting and Painting business here called CDPI, Cliff Davis Painting, Inc., www.cdpipainting.com, operating in the Eugene and Springfield area since 1982. We have successfully served the area for over 25 years in this business.
We are a family of seven, the two of us with five children and now several grandchildren.
Over the years we have enjoyed living in the Eugene – Springfield area. Besides working for and with our communities, we enjoy many other activities, such as classic cars, family camping trips, hiking, fishing, boating, and traveling. We have many friends and business associates here and throughout the state.
We have several other business endeavors in the area. We enjoy living in the Eugene Springfield area, but have always wanted to find another place where we could possibly afford to live, sort of as a vacation getaway or a possible retirement location, at least for during the Oregon winter months.
Sort of like the snow birds do…
Over the last four years we have traveled extensively in and around Mexico, lately having concentrated our visits to the La Paz area. We have been searching for an enjoyable and fulfilling lifestyle and have found it in La Paz where we have made many new friends and have had many extraordinary adventures. We have come to LOVE MEXICO!
We have come so much to appreciate the Mexican cultures and the people there, and after several more trips to La Paz, we finally decided that we had found “our haven”. It was just exactly what we were looking for, and much, much more.
The weather is exquisitely warm and comfortable most all year round, the sights and vistas are amazingly beautiful. The Mexican Arts and Crafts are rich with color and history and local shops and markets are filled with these treasures to the brim, both from present and days past. The culture is just so rich. The local people you meet are kind, friendly and generously accommodating. You find and meet interesting folks from all over the world. The environment is just “happy”!
There are so many fun and exciting things to do and see every day, so many wonderful and gorgeous places to visit and travel to. We wondered next how we would tap into this exiting place. We wondered: “Could we live here?”
It was through another good friend of ours here in Eugene, that we found the key to the solution. The door of opportunity was opened. This friend had been to Mexico often in the past few years, and he had friends there.
He introduced us to our La Paz Associates John Donnell and Ricardo Perez.
John, an American originally also from Eugene, Oregon, has lived in the La Paz area for over ten years. He married a Mexican girl there, and they have a son.
Ricardo Perez is a Mexican citizen and lives in La Paz with his wife and two sons. These are wonderful and gracious folks, and have become great friends of ours. They were exited about showing us around the town, introducing us to the people and culture, the wonderful places and vistas there.
We discovered that John had purchased several prime pieces of property around the La Paz area over the years, and actually had some up for sale. He was instrumental in educating us on how to legally purchase property in Mexico as American citizens.
He was instrumental in showing us that it was legally feasible and not difficult.
And so we bought the first piece of our dream. We purchased a beautiful ocean front lot on the Sea of Cortez.
Furthermore, with John & Ricardo’s help, we were able to find several additional pieces of property that were unbelievably priced, especially for what they offered, - beautiful vistas in excellent locations. We could not turn these investment opportunities down. We started thinking how wonderful it would be to be able to pass on the dream to our friends and associates, maybe people like you!
And that’s our story.
We are now in the process of building our first dream home there. We will also be building additional homes to sell, as well as developing additional properties in the near future.
